Phoenix Tent and Awning carries a wide selection of Natural Cotton Duck Canvas. The term “duck” comes from the Dutch word “doek” meaning cloth. Natural Cotton Duck is untreated (i.e. no chemical water repellant or mildew treatment), but because of the tight weave and natural oils of the cotton fiber, this fabric tends to resist water ... "like water off a duck's back."

Cotton Duck is classified in two ways: by weight (ounces per square yard) and by a graded number system. The numbers run in reverse of the weight, so #12 canvas is lighter than #8. This versatile fabric is sold by the yard or roll for many uses: artist canvas, stage backdrops, mural canvas, canvas bags, tents, tarps, covers, canvas drop cloths, and many more.
